Established as the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce of America, Inc. Name changed to Aircraft Industries Association of America, Inc. in 1945 and to Aerospace Industries Association of America in 1959. The National Center for Advanced Technologies is its non-profit affiliate. AIA's mission is to provide strong and steady advocacy of the aerospace and defense industry with Congress, the White House, the executive branch particularly the departments of Defense, State, Transportation/FAA, Commerce, Homeland Security.
