American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Founded as the American Society of Physical Therapy Physicians, became the American Society of Physical Medicine in 1944 and the present name was adopted in 1955. APM&R seeks to maximize the quality of life, while minimizing the incidence, severity, and prevalence of impairments, disabilities, and handicaps. Members are physiatrists practicing in the US and physicians who are Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Membership: $780 (Fellow/Associate); $90 (Resident/Associate Fellow); $390 (Part time Fellow); $250 (International); $240 (Research/Academic); Free (Medical Student/Senior Fellow); $382 (Early-Career); $250 (Advanced Practice Provider).
