American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
Formerly, American Academy of Speech Correction, American Academy of Speech Correction (1925), American Society for the Study of Disorders of Speech (1927), American Speech Correction Association (1934), American Speech and Hearing Association (1947) and assumed its current name in 1979. ASHA's mission is to empower and support speech-language pathologists, audiologists, speech, language, and hearing scientists by promoting effective human communication.
