OFII is involved in issues of U.S. subsidiaries of companies headquartered abroad or “Insourcing” companies. It is a clearinghouse for statistical information (both government and private data) on the role of international investment in the United States. It advocates for fair, non-discriminatory treatment of foreign-based companies and promotes policies that will encourage them to establish U.S. operations. Membership is exclusive to the U.S. operations of companies headquartered abroad.
