MASHSMD was formed in 2015 as the result of the merger of the Virginia and Maryland chapters of healthcare PR, marketing, communications and planning professionals. It is an official independent chapter affiliate of the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD), the national organization for those responsible for strategy development and implementation in healthcare organizations.
