National Rural Education Association
Established as the Department of Rural and Agricultural Education of the National Education Association, it became the Rural Education Association in 1959, the Rural Regional Education Association in 1975, the Rural Education Association in 1986 and assumed its present name in 1987. National Rural Education Association (NREA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the interests of schools and educators in rural and sparsely-populated areas of the United States. Membership fee: $75-$100 (Individual); $300 (Institutional/University/K-12 School District); $100 (Individual); $50 (Student Membership Under/Grad/K12 Teacher/Retired Rural member/University Library); $150 (University Library International); $500 (Special Sponsor Affiliate).
