Founded as North Carolina Academy of Trial lawyers (NCATL). NCAJ's mission is to protect people's rights through professional and community legal education, championing individual rights, and protecting the safety of North Carolina's families in the workplace, in the home, and in the environment. Membership: $250-$475 (Attorney); $0 (First Year of Practice/Student); $90-$250 (Public Service Attorney); $175 (Retired); $65-$175 (Paralegal/Legal Assistant); $950 (Sustainer-Patron); $1,300 (Sustainer-Investor); $1,900 (Sustainer-Benefactor); $3,500 (Sustainer-President's Club).
