Water Environment Federation
Formerly, the Federation of Sewage Works Associations (1928), the Federation of Sewage and Industrial Wastes Associations (1950), and the Water Pollution Control Federation (1960); the name was changed to the Water Environment Federation in 1991. WEF is a technical and educational organization representing water quality professionals around the world. Members are water quality specialists from around the world, including environmental, civil and chemical engineers, biologists, chemists, government officials, treatment plant managers and operators, laboratory technicians, college professors, researchers, students and equipment manufacturers and distributors.
