Association of Zoos and Aquariums
Formerly a branch of the American Institute of Park Executives and the National Recreation and Park Association, became an independent organization in 1971 as American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums; became the American Zoo and Aquarium Association in 1994; assumed its current name in 2006. AZA is dedicated to the advancement of accredited zoos and aquariums in the areas of animal care, wildlife conservation, education and science. Membership: $100 (Professional Associate); $95 (Professional Affiliate); $195 (Professional Fellow); $40 (Student); $15-$30 (Advocate); $475 (Conservation Partners); $750-$1,500 (Commercial).
