Association for Commuter Transportation
Formed in Savannah, Georgia in August 1976 by 31 charter van pool pioneers as the National Association of Van Pool Operators, assumed its present name in 1984 and absorbed the Association of Ridesharing Professionals in 1986. ACT supports individual mobility management professionals and organizational members in their efforts to reduce traffic congestion, conserve energy, and improve air quality. Members are corporations, employers, public agencies, transit authorities, van pool management companies, real estate developers and individuals involved in promoting alternatives to drive alone commuting. Membership: $375 (Individual); $575 (Organization/Company); $40 (Student).
